In There's Something About Mary, Cameron Diaz as Mary, is this special girl that everyone likes. In her last year of high school, Ted (Ben Stiller) was supposed to be her date in the prom, but Ted was caught in a very unfortunate incident. The date ended in disaster.

The "date" was a disaster

Mary's family moved away to another city and the two of them lost contact. Ted had hang ups about the whole thing that he had to see a psychiatrist. So at the advise of his old time friend, he hired Pat Healy, a private detective, to locate Mary.

The private detective (Matt Dillon) found her and promptly fell in love with her too. He resigned from his job and moved to Mary's city, pretending to be someone he is not.

Anyway, in this movie, whoever who knows Mary will sure fall in love with her. This is the only part that is rather "fake". The rest will find you chuckle along the way.

I especially like the scene where Pat Healy nearly killed the doggie. The doggie played a rather major role throughout the movie. In one scene, after he fell out the window, he had to be plastered all over.

The other funny scene was when Ted (Ben Stiller) tried to masturbate to Bra Sale advertisement in the newspaper. This is the scene before he got semen stuck to his ear and used as hair gel by Mary. I am grossed out just typing this out.

Watch this movie if you haven't. It is funny, but I find Ben Stiller was funnier in Dodgeball. At least he looked different there.
